Fall Safety Prevention Week: Sep. 19-24
As we age, we’re more inclined to fall-related injuries. According to the CDC, falls are at 36 million per year in the elderly population. Injuries sustained from a fall can alter one’s daily living routine and even worse if broken bones are incurred. Conditions such as osteoporosis, are common in the aging community, thereby increasing the risk for severe injuries.
At Hidden Springs Senior Living, we prioritize safety and fall prevention. Our medical team of nurses and physicians regularly evaluate and monitor the residents. In-house occupational and physical therapy are provided to regain strength and mobility. When needed, assistive devices, such as gait belts, walkers, wheelchairs, and bed alarms are recommended.
Diet and exercise have a huge impact on fall prevention. By eating foods fortified in vitamins and minerals plus keeping active builds strong bones. HSSL offers three nutritional meals daily and activities like yoga, chair aerobics, and walking help to keep you healthy and more importantly, to prevent falls. #fallprevention #safetyfirst #seniorhealth #hiddenspringsseniorliving
