Meet Our Resident!

Archives

Susan Martin was born and raised in Beckley, West Virginia. The youngest of three girls to Charles and Marian Patton. You could always find Susan curled up in a corner reading a novel. Following high school, Susan left home and earned her Master’s Degree at Clemson University in South Carolina. After receiving her degree, she became a Graduate Assistant at her alma mater. Several years later, she relocated to Winchester, VA and pursued teaching at Lord Fairfax Community College as one of their English Professors. She held that position six years. Upon retiring, she sold her beautiful home and moved to a country cottage in Linden, VA to be near her new friend, Diane Crump. A few years later, Susan’s physician suggested she may need help with meal preparation and medication administration, her friend Diane recommended HSSL as her new home. Susan fell in love with the location and atmosphere of Hidden Springs Senior Living as it reminded her of her country roots with the views of the Blue Ridge and Massanutten Mountains outside her window.

What are some of your favorite things about Hidden Springs? “I love to play card games (King’s Corner is my favorite) and Bingo. Especially when I win Bingo Bucks to use at the Bingo Store. I love the pet therapy visits, it is the highlight of my day. As an avid reader, Reading Club in the sunroom brings me a lot of joy, especially the new books and listening to different readers. Hidden Springs Senior Living takes great care of all its residents. Not to mention, the variety of tasty foods. I love that the Dining Department has hot coffee readily available. Our community is impeccably clean, and I think everybody here does a great job and does the extra mile to make sure we are all safe. I appreciate Dr. Thomas Ball and Katie Winter, NP taking care of me in the convenience of my home. They give great care and treat people kindly. What makes me happy is waking up in the morning and having so many things here to do at Hidden Springs Senior Living. #assistedliving#retirement#happy#hiddenspringsseniorliving
